Considered one of Cincinnati's "Top Docs" and a "Rising Star Medical Leader," Dr. Metzler's areas of interest and specialization include: minimally invasive shoulder and knee surgery, anterior cruciate and complex knee ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair, cartilage restoration surgery, patella-femoral instability, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, biceps tendon repair, clavicle fractures, ankle fractures, and general Orthopaedic fracture care.

A native of Fairfield, Ohio, Dr. Adam V. Metzler received his M.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he was Valedictorian of his medical school class. Dr. Metzler subsequently completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at UC where he earned the Peter J. Stern, M.D. Chief Resident Leadership Award, the Chief Resident of the Year Peer Award and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Chief Resident of the Year.

Dr. Metzler completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship and was Team Physician for the University of Kentucky and UK athletics. Since completing his Fellowship, Dr. Metzler is continuing his support of local athletes by serving as the Team Physician for Holy Cross High School, St. Henry High School, and for Simon Kenton High School. Dr. Metzler is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and he was named a 2018 Top Doctor by Cincinnati Magazine.

Dr. Metzler is constantly active in research, teaching and presentations to other physicians. He is able to stay current with the latest Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery techniques through his continued shoulder and knee research. Dr. Metzler serves as associate faculty at the University of Cincinnati Department of Orthopaedic Surgery where he helps teach 4th year residents about sports medicine surgery. He is a clinical instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery for the St. Elizabeth Family Practice Residency Program and helps educate many of the physicians in our community. He helped author an iBook for other physicians, Anatomic ACL Reconstruction. It is an interactive technique guide reviewing the latest innovations in anatomic ACL reconstruction. Outside of his practice, he is busy enjoying his role as a husband and father to three children. During his free time, Dr. Metzler also enjoys boating, wakeboarding, waterskiing, snow skiing, golfing and landscaping.

Dr. Metzler is accepting patients in sports medicine and orthopaedic surgery, including knee and shoulder and sports medicine problems, and sees patients at OrthoCincy's Edgewood and Florence locations.
